zigzagging steeply up the side of the mountain, Col du Pre is a real challenge. At the summit you are treated to the magnificent view of Lac de Roselend.
A very quiet road with lots of hairpins, and fantastic views over what you can describe as a classic Alpine valley. The final 8 kilometre section from Arêches to the summit is a real killer when the gradient starts to hover around 9-10%. The section from 4 kilometres to go up to the final kilometre marker regularly register 12-14%. It’s not often you see an average gradient of 10.7% on a kilometre marker . . . you do on this climb.
Col du Pré was recently part of the Time Megeve Sportive route which takes place in June.
